About the role

Hurlstone Park Medical Centre is seeking an experienced and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. This is a full-time position based in Canterbury, NSW 2193.

The Practice

Nurse plays a vital role in our general medical practice, delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team to ensure the best possible health outcomes for our community. You will be at the heart of our operations, working alongside GPs and administrative staff to provide comprehensive nursing services across a range of medical and surgical conditions.

Key responsibilities

- Perform nursing assessments and provide patient care across general medical and surgical conditions
- Administer injections, immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with clinical protocols and guidelines
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound management under clinical supervision
- Take patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature and heart rate, and report findings to the GP
- Provide patient education and health promotion advice relating to chronic disease management and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with best practice and regulatory requirements
- Support the clinical team in ensuring a safe, clean and well-organised clinical environment
- Respond to patient enquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the practice

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Demonstrated experience in general practice nursing or primary healthcare
- Strong clinical knowledge and competence in performing nursing procedures and assessments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse patient populations
- Current immunisation certificate or willingness to undertake training to obtain this qualification
- Knowledge of relevant legislation,



including Privacy Act requirements and health and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and professional development
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to undertake training)
