About the role

Ultra Labels is looking for a tech-minded Prepress Apprentice to join the team at Eagle Farm. Working alongside the experienced Prepress team, you'll learn how customer artwork is prepared for production across labels and flexible packaging. No previous Prepress experience is required.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and checking artwork for print
- Learning Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and specialist prepress software
- Understanding colour, CMYK, spot colours and colour management
- Working with barcodes, QR codes, fonts and artwork quality control
- Learning about digital and flexographic printing
- Understanding production layouts and file automation
- Learning about flexible packaging, die cutting, foiling and screen printing
- Troubleshooting technical problems and finding solutions

- Highly proficient with computers and technology




- Enjoys solving problems and figuring out how things work
- Excellent attention to detail
- Curious, organised and keen to learn
- Takes pride in getting things right
- Works well as part of a team
- Experience with coding, scripting, Adobe software, graphic design or other technology projects would be highly regarded
