Our programs cover English, Maths, Writing and Thinking Skills, with learning aligned to the NSW curriculum.

We are looking for passionate and enthusiastic tutors who enjoy working with children and want to make a positive difference in their learning.

About the Role

We are looking for Primary School Tutors to join our team at Bella Vista.

You will be teaching small classes of primary school students in English, Maths, Writing and/or Thinking Skills, depending on your strengths and experience.

We welcome applications from experienced tutors, teachers and university students with tutoring or teaching experience.

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is required.

Role & Responsibilities

As a tutor, you will:

- Teach small classes of primary school students
- Deliver engaging lessons in English, Maths, Writing and/or Thinking Skills
- Explain concepts clearly and support students when needed
- Encourage students to participate, ask questions and build confidence
- Mark classwork and provide constructive feedback
- Monitor student progress
- Maintain a positive and focused learning environment




- Communicate professionally with students, parents and the Ascent Academy team

What We're Looking For

Our ideal tutor will

- Have previous tutoring or teaching experience
- Have strong English and/or Maths skills
- Be confident working with primary school students
- Be patient, friendly and approachable
- Be able to explain concepts clearly and simply
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be reliable, organised and able to commit to regular classes
- Have a genuine interest in teaching and helping students improve
- Have a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or be willing to obtain one

Knowledge of OC and Selective School preparation is an advantage, particularly for Thinking Skills. Why Work With Ascent Academy?

Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 – 8.0 per week
