With a strong commitment to our people, safety, quality, and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Officer – Food Production to join our Procurement team.
This is a hands-on role supporting the procurement function across a dynamic and fast-paced food production environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of ingredients, packaging, labelling, film, and other materials required to support ongoing production. Working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, you will help maintain supply continuity, manage purchasing requirements, and contribute to effective supplier and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities across ingredients, packaging, labelling, film, and other production materials.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and alignment with business requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers to monitor orders, lead times, pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor inventory levels and procurement requirements to support production continuity and minimise supply disruptions.
- Assist with supplier negotiations, pricing reviews, and ongoing cost management initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiencies, and value across the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, documentation, and purchasing data.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance,
and other internal teams to ensure procurement requirements are effectively managed.
- Support the identification and resolution of supply, quality, pricing, and delivery issues.
- Ensure procurement activities are undertaken in accordance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and relevant food industry requirements.
- Promote and champion ACC Values and behaviours through all procurement activities and interactions.
About You You are an experienced procurement professional who thrives in operational environments and enjoys building strong working relationships across all levels of the business. You are proactive, organised, commercially aware, and confident managing multiple procurement requirements in a fast-paced food production environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- The ability to work Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 4.00pm, onsite.
- Demonstrated 3–5 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within food manufacturing, processing, or a similar high-volume operational environment.
- Experience procuring food production materials including ingredients, packaging, labelling, film, and related products.
- Robust supplier management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage purchase orders, deliveries, stock requirements, and supplier performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple areas of the business.
- Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a practical and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Sound commercial awareness and an understanding of procurement processes, costs, and supply requirements.
- Experience within the food production or manufacturing industry will be highly regarded.
