About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Sydney.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers and Supervisors, you will coordinate engineering requirements, procurement, programme, costs and quality across multiple work fronts.

This role suits someone who can take ownership of project packages, resolve technical issues and keep site activities progressing.

Key responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate construction activities, staging and short-term programmes.
- Review drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies and coordinate technical solutions.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor scopes, supplier deliveries and progress claims.
- Track project costs, quantities and forecasts, and report on budget performance.
- Prepare and assess variations and support contractual notices, claims and extensions of time.
- Coordinate with site teams, surveyors, consultants, clients and relevant authorities.
- Prepare and maintain RFIs, inspection and test plans, quality records and project reports.
- Coordinate inspections,



testing and close-out of defects and non-conformances.
- Support site safety and environmental requirements.
- Assist with as-built documentation and project handover.

About you

- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven Project Engineer experience delivering civil construction projects in Australia.
- Experience in roads, drainage, utilities or similar civil infrastructure.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction requirements.
- Practical understanding of procurement, cost control, variations and contract administration.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing site priorities.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with site teams.
- Experience on TfNSW or local council projects will be highly regarded.
