About the role The Property & Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and statutory compliance of the Society’s property portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, this is a hands-on role focused on coordinating maintenance, contractors and compliance activities to help ensure our owned and leased properties are secure, functional and well maintained.
The role supervises the Property Administrator, who is the first point of contact for maintenance requests and coordinates the logging and tracking of reactive and preventative work orders across the organisation. Together, you’ll help keep maintenance requests organised, followed up and completed in a timely manner.
You’ll also assist with minor capital works where required, coordinate contractors and service providers, and support compliance activities including Essential Safety Measures (ESMs), asbestos registers and building condition assessments across a diverse property portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include
- Coordinating reactive and preventative maintenance across a diverse property portfolio.
- Supporting and overseeing the Property Administrator with day-to-day maintenance coordination.
- Helping ensure properties meet Essential Safety Measures (ESMs), building codes, WHS legislation and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinating contractors and service providers to complete maintenance and compliance works.
- Conducting property inspections, audits and building condition assessments.
- Supporting minor capital works, contractor engagement and project delivery.
- Preparing maintenance and compliance reports and working closely with internal stakeholders.

About you
You will bring
- Experience working in facilities, asset or property management across a diverse property portfolio.
- Good knowledge of building maintenance, statutory compliance and Essential Safety Measures (ESMs).
- Experience working with contractors and service providers, with experience supporting or supervising a small team desirable.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with maintenance budgets, contracts and operational planning.
- A tertiary qualification in facilities management, asset management, engineering, building services or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence and flexibility to travel to regional sites when required.
