About the Farmers Pick

Farmers Pick is on a mission to fix a broken food system, one order at a time. Founded in 2020, we rescue fresh, imperfect produce that supermarkets reject for cosmetic quirks and deliver it straight to customers' doors at up to 30% below supermarket prices. We have since grown to include grass fed meat, responsibly caught seafood and clean ingredient pantry staples, all sourced through direct relationships with Australian growers and producers who are paid fairly for their work.

To date we have served over 180,000 households across Australia, rescued more than 10 million kilograms of produce, returned over $30 million to farmers and donated 268,000kg of surplus food to OzHarvest, all while supporting more than 100 Australian farms. About the role

Every order into Farmers Pick, across three warehouses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, is raised correctly, confirmed and priced as agreed.

You are the engine room of the buying team. You turn the weekly buy plan into purchase orders and you hold suppliers to what they promised. When a delivery is short or delayed, you are all over it!

This role is critical to ensure we can meet our own customers' expectations and deliver an exceptional service that shapes our food system.





Key responsibilities

- Purchase Orders. Raising and issuing purchase orders across three sites so that every delivery has something to track it.
- Order confirmation. Acceptance, quantities and ETAs confirmed with the supplier. Chasing late, short and rejected deliveries.
- Price control. Every PO checked against the agreed rate card, and variance escalated to the Category Manager before payment.
- Claims and credits. Dock discrepancies raised by the Inventory Controllers converted into supplier claims.
- The purchasing calendar. Supplier cutoffs, order days and lead times aligned to sales forecasts
- Rules-based replenishment. Run the reorder review, maintain the safety stock, as well as the min and max parameters set by the Category Manager.
- Transfers. Cross-site transfer requests

What we're looking for

- Three or more years in purchasing, procurement administration or inventory coordination, ideally in food, FMCG or ecommerce.
- ERP and inventory systems experience.
- Detail-oriented. You notice when something doesn’t add up.
- Persistence with suppliers. Daily, polite and relentless.
- Structured. You work on calendars, cutoffs and checklists.
- Ownership. You like owning a system end to end and making it run smoothly.
