Stratara is a growing Melbourne accounting and advisory firm working with clients across construction, property, trades, hospitality, healthcare and other growing businesses.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant who can manage their own workload, work directly with clients and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

The role

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Preparing BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations
- Managing a portfolio of clients and responding to their day-to-day queries
- Reviewing bookkeeping, payroll, bank reconciliations and client records
- Preparing management reports, budgets and cash-flow forecasts
- Providing practical tax and business advice to clients
- Assisting construction clients with job costing, work-in-progress reporting and financial forecasting
- Liaising with the ATO and other external parties
- Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members
- Working closely with the firm’s leadership on client matters and advisory work

About you We are looking for someone who:




- Holds a recognised accounting degree
- Is CA or CPA qualified, or close to completing their qualification
- Has at least three years of experience in public practice or business services accounting
- Has experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across different business structures
- Is confident using Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Can manage deadlines and work independently
- Communicates confidently and professionally with clients
- Has strong attention to detail and takes ownership of their work
