ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Complete Belting Solutions Pty Ltd is an Australian conveyor and asset maintenance management company that manufactures and supplies products and services to a range of sites across Australia.
We strive to provide the best quality products and services in the industry, and we have positions available for experienced mechanical fitters within our Melbourne-based team.
These positions offer a unique prospect for those looking for a diverse working environment at a competitive rate. They will see you perform a variety of tasks, across a range of industries, with works conducted both in the workshop and onsite, specifically:
- at our Melbourne workshop; and
- on local and regional client sites, including project works.
We note that conveyor experience is not necessary, however any crushing and conveyor experience will be looked upon favourably. A willingness to assist with and learn conveyor belt splicing and associated works is a requirement.
Fabrication experience and competency would also be highly desirable.
This opportunity will see you:
- Carry out general mechanical and maintenance works on various plant and equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance diagnostic audits on mechanical assets
- Carry out assigned planned repair and maintenance works on a range of conveyor systems including roller maintenance, pulley refurbs, gear box change outs, skirt replacements, belt tracking, etc
- Undertake assigned planned workshop mechanical works
- Assist in conveyor belt installations, repairs and associated works
- Undertake breakdown, shutdown and project work
- General workshop duties as required, including stock management, maintenance tasks, paperwork, etc (where applicable)
- Travel to regional locations and undertake above tasks as required
- Significant overtime is available to those seeking it, however it is not mandatory
All suitable applicants must possess the following qualities:
- Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification (Cert III or above)
- Minimum two years' experience as a qualified fitter (must be proficient in core maintenance fitting skills)
- Competency in fabrication would be highly regarded
- Commitment to the highest Work Health Safety and Environment standards in all activities, with the ability to apply workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Commitment to quality workmanship and concern for job-turnaround and customer downtime
- A willingness to work different shifts where required
- A willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as required
- A willingness to work both locally and short-term DIDO (regional Victoria)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Excellent communications skills, a strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions, as well as work well as an individual or as part of team, especially when under pressure
- Well-presented and professional in all aspects
- A responsible attitude, with a willingness to be held accountable
- A valid driver licence
- Possessing the following qualifications would be an advantage: confined space; Working Safely at Heights; EWP; White Card
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
- A current forklift licence will be looked upon favourably
