We are seeking suitably qualified Rangers to join our Community Hubs & Safety team in a casual capacity to provide ad hoc support on an as needed basis.

About the City of Kalamunda The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35-minute drive from the Perth CBD providing the opportunity to work in a varied planning environment, from rural natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
About this Opportunity
As a Casual Ranger, you’ll help keep our community protected, fair, and enjoyable for everyone. You’ll administer and enforce relevant legislation, the City’s Local Laws, and Council Policies acting with professionalism and integrity.
In this hands-on role, you’ll be out and about in the community, providing high-quality customer service through a balanced approach of education and enforcement. Whether it’s supporting fire compliance, assisting with animal control matters, managing parking and litter concerns, or addressing off-road vehicle issues, you’ll play an important part in protecting community safety and amenity.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with people from all walks of life, and making a visible, positive difference every day.
We are looking for Rangers who have:
- Demonstrated experience in a public-facing or customer service environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of the Local Government Act, Dog Act, Bush Fires Act, Off-Road Vehicles Act, Litter Act, Cat Act, and relevant Council Local Laws and policies.
- Experience in animal handling
Essential requirements for this position:
- Law A and B or ROCS 1 and 2 with Central Regional TAFE is a prerequisite required to apply for this position.
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate – no more than three months
Hours of Work Casual employment with ad hoc shift availability across a Monday – Sunday roster.
Successful candidates will become part of our casual pool of Rangers providing assistance in filling shifts during busy workload and peak periods, to cover team leave and on an as needs basis.
About the Benefits
You will be paid a Level 5 hourly rate of $55.16 per hour inclusive of casual loading plus superannuation.
You will also be entitled to any applicable allowances, penalties, overtime, or other payments in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.
