Position Overview

Enter The Role

This isn’t a typical operations role, because Activate isn’t a typical venue.

As Regional Leader, you’ll play a critical role in launching and growing Activate in Australia. You’ll be the operational leader in our Australian market, responsible for establishing the standards, routines and practices that will support our venues as we grow.

Based in Melbourne, you’ll lead our first venue while supporting and coaching Store Leaders as we expand and launch new locations across Australia. You’ll build strong teams, create consistent operational practices and ensure every venue delivers the Activate experience our guests expect.

This is a hands on leadership role. In the early stages of our Australian growth, you’ll be close to the operation, working alongside venue leaders and teams, problem solving on the go, building relationships and helping shape how Activate operates locally.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Launch and Grow Activate Australia

- Lead the launch and scale up of our Australian operations, ensuring new venues are opened successfully and positioned for sustainable growth.
- Establish and embed operational excellence through robust standards, processes and ways of working that reflect global best practice.
- Create the frameworks and capabilities required to deliver exceptional customer experiences, strong team engagement and operational compliance.




- Drive expansion readiness by identifying opportunities for operational improvement, workforce optimisation and effective market entry planning.
- Build and maintain trusted partnerships with landlords, property managers, suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders to support business success.

Lead Exceptional Venue Operations

- Own operational performance across the region, ensuring venues consistently deliver a high quality guest experience.
- Support the launch and establishment of our first Melbourne venue, coaching and enabling the Store Leader while building regional capability for future growth.
- Partner with Store Leaders to support team performance, solve challenges and maintain Activate standards across venues.
- Use data, feedback and operational insights to identify opportunities to improve the customer and employee experience.
- Oversee venue standards including safety, facilities, maintenance, inventory and presentation.

Team Leadership

- Recruit, coach and develop high performing Store Leaders while building a robust pipeline of future operational talent.
- Connect regularly with Store Leaders to drive accountability, capability development and performance across multiple venues.
- Support Store Leaders in all aspects of people leadership, including onboarding, development planning, performance management and team engagement.
- Champion a positive, inclusive culture where teams feel supported, empowered and motivated to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Lead the delivery of training across operations, safety, brand standards and venue excellence.

Safety & Compliance

- Establish and maintain Work Health and Safety practices across Australian venues practices aligned with applicable Australian Work Health and Safety requirements and relevant legislation.




- Support with incident reporting, investigations, hazard management and safety training.

Connect Australia with the Global Team

- Act as the key operational connection between Australian venues and Activate’s North American teams.
- Translate global priorities into practical local execution.
- Share local market insights, opportunities and learnings with the North American teams to support continuous improvement as we grow.

Qualifications / Relevant Experience

- Demonstrated leadership experience delivering strong results, ideally in a multi-site environment such as entertainment, hospitality, leisure, fitness, retail or similar.
- Experience leading teams through growth, change or new site openings.
- Experience managing and measuring operational performance, customer experience and people outcomes.
- Experience leading Work Health and Safety practices in a customer facing or physical environment.
- Strong coaching and leadership capability with the ability to develop other leaders.
- Confidence working with operational systems, workforce management tools and business reporting.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills.
- Experience launching a new brand or opening new venues (highly desirable).
