ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Dialysis Unit on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients receiving dialysis treatment, while working collaboratively with a supportive multidisciplinary team. This is an important role in ensuring the safe delivery of care and positive patient experiences throughout their treatment journey.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients with acute and chronic renal conditions, including assessment, care planning, implementation and documentation.
- Monitor and respond to patients’ clinical needs, recognising changes in condition, managing emergencies and escalating concerns appropriately to the NUM/CNS and medical team.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, carers and the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes and maintain dignity, privacy and respect.
- Maintain clinical competence and professional standards, including participation in education, orientation, mandatory training and ongoing development relevant to renal and dialysis nursing.
- Contribute to quality, safety and continuous improvement, including incident reporting, risk management, accreditation activities, clinical audits and compliance with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
ABOUT YOU: The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Current AHPRA registration
- 2 years’ experience working as a Renal Dialysis nurse (preferable)
- Recent experience and knowledge of the Nipro – Surdial X haemodialysis machine (preferable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of the team
- A commitment to excellent patient care
