The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an setting appropriate to the person's needs.

Help ensure consumers receive the right support at the right time while making a lasting impact in your local community.
As a Mental Health Intake and Referral Clinician, you will play a vital role in reviewing referrals received through the Patient Flow Portal and facilitating timely access to the most appropriate community mental health services for consumers. Working within the district's central intake and referral service, you will conduct mental health triage assessments via telephone, coordinate warm handovers to receiving teams, and provide post-discharge follow-up support for consumers transitioning from inpatient care to the community.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in Mental Health Nursing as a Registered Nurse including completion of a new graduate Registered Nurse program or equivalent experience working as a Mental Health Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide effective Mental Health Nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
- Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit or team requirements.
