POSITION TITLE: Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
Status: Permanent part time (FTE TBC approx 0.6)
POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join our specialist community palliative care team.
Cittamani Hospice is a long established specialist community based palliative care service set in the heart of the beautiful Sunshine Coast. As part of this small organisation you can make a difference to the lives of many vulnerable patients and their families in the community. Cittamani is a Buddhist faith-based organisation dedicated to providing holistic patient centred care to patients who are dying and their families.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as an independent clinician, assuming responsibly for individual actions and practising in a safe, professional manner.
Provide holistic nursing care in a consultative manner, which promotes the autonomy and dignity of the client and carers and addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual and practical needs.
Work in a collaborative and harmonious manner as a member of the interdisciplinary team. This includes relating within the Cittamani team and liaising with other health service providers;
Be diligent in self-care and in monitoring and managing the stresses and risks associated with working in this area of healthcare.
Support with care coordination and office based tasks and continuity of care for clients and families in collaboration with other health care providers, whilst ensuring that high standards of clinical practice are maintained throughout.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and an ability to work autonomously.
- Demonstrate recent practice working in palliative care and/or community setting.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach to your work.
- Flexible working within a 7 day roster and support on call requirements.
- Strong teamwork.
DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES
- Experience in community nursing.
- Post graduate qualifications in palliative care.
