About the role
Lumia Care Group is seeking experienced Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives to join our healthcare team on locum contract positions. Key responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife on a locum contract, you will:
- Provide direct patient care in acute care, A&E;, critical care and ICU environments, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualised care plans based on clinical findings and patient needs
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining accurate and timely documentation in patient records
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status, recognising and responding promptly to changes in condition
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless patient outcomes
- Support patients and their families by providing emotional support, education and advocacy during their healthcare journey
- Maintain strict infection control and health and safety protocols in all clinical areas
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment, adapting quickly to the specific requirements of each clinical setting
- Comply with all professional standards, regulatory requirements and organisational policies
What we're looking for To be successful in this locum nursing or midwifery role, you will need:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife
- Demonstrated experience working in acute care, emergency department, critical care or intensive care unit settings
- Solid clinical knowledge and competency in assessment, monitoring and management of acutely unwell patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgements whilst contributing effectively to a team-based environment
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing clinical demands
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent screening clearance, where applicable
- Immunisation requirements met in accordance with Australian healthcare standards
- Preferred experience with electronic health records and clinical information systems
- Preferred evidence of professional development, continuing education or specialisation in your area of practice
