Position: Teacher of Religious Studies
Level: Year 7 to 10 (possibility of Year 11-12 if qualified for HSC Studies of Religion)
Load: Fulltime
Commencement: Term 1 2027
Position Overview
Cranbrook School is seeking to appoint an experienced and energetic teacher of Religious Studies who is suitably qualified to teach Religious Studies to Years 7 to 10. The successful applicant will be a Christian and actively involved in his or her church and willing to contribute to the co-curricular life of the School.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Responsibilities:
- Have a good knowledge of the subject area.
- Have intellectual strength, professional integrity.
- Have the ability to express the Christian faith clearly,
demonstrating sensitivity to a variety of other religious views
- Have sensitivity to students who don’t have a Christian background.
- Have the ability to develop, implement and evaluate effective, engaging, teaching programs which incorporate a range of ICT strategies.
- Have the ability to differentiate classroom activities in order to meet the learning needs of students.
- Have effective classroom management skills and the ability to create and promote a positive learning environment in the classroom.
A Willingness to:
- Work collaboratively.
- Teach the Religious Studies curriculum with creativity and academic excellence.
- Contribute to the development the Religious Studies curriculum for Years 7-12 under the direction of the Head of Religious Studies.
- Provide an opportunity for students to respond with their questions and beliefs in a sensitive manner.
- Participate in the pastoral care of students.
- Participate in the co-curricular programs of the School.
- Any other duties requested by the Head of School.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in teaching
- Tertiary theological study
- Ministry experience in a co-ed environment or in a girls’ school.
