The Role
As the APS 6 Remunerations Manager within the Personnel Branch – Air Force, you will lead a small team responsible for delivery of specialist workforce remuneration advice and services within an integrated workforce environment. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders, providing subject matter expert advice and guidance on remuneration policies and workforce conditions for Air Force personnel.
The APS 6 Remunerations Manager will contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of remuneration policies and procedures, ensuring they remain effective and compliant. You will provide high-quality advice to leadership, support reviews and form initiatives and help manage complex remuneration matters. The role offers an opportunity to combine leadership, stakeholder engagement and policy expertise on Air Force remuneration matters.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead and support a small team in delivering remuneration services, workforce support and specialist advice to Air Force personnel.
- Provide advice on Air Force remuneration policies, salary structures, entitlements and conditions of service to personnel and leadership.
- Support and implement remuneration initiatives, salary structure changes and workforce reform programs.
- Manage complex remuneration enquiries, investigations and casework, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely outcomes.
- Analyse remuneration data and prepare reports, insights and recommendations to support leadership with informed decision-making, leading positive organisational outcomes.
- In collaboration with workforce, policy, industrial relations and other stakeholders, you will develop and maintain remuneration policies, procedures and guidance material.
About our Team
Personnel Branch – Air Force provides career management for aviators of all service categories.
The primary function of the branch is to develop aviators with the right skills, to be placed in the right positions utilising their skills and talent to meet capability demand.
The Air Force Remuneration
Team sits within the Directorate of Personnel Air Force, and is a small, integrated team comprising of two APS employees and three ADF members who provide specialist pay and remuneration support to all Air Force personnel.
Personnel Branch – Air Force operates within Military Personnel Division, and the team fosters a collaborative and supportive environment where APS and ADF members work closely together, share knowledge, and assist one another to achieve positive outcomes for Air Force personnel. The team values professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm, recognising the direct impact their work has on individual members and the diverse range of stakeholders they engage with.

Security Clearance:
