Role Description The Research Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. The person in this role will gather, analyze, and interpret market, financial, and corporate data to support the Sophymarine Platform, OpenRegistry, and related services. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting structured and ad hoc research, validating data accuracy from official registries, and preparing clear reports, dashboards, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

The Research

Analyst will collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to refine data models, identify trends,



and improve the usefulness of insights delivered to clients. The role also involves communicating findings in a straightforward manner, contributing to product documentation, and helping shape research methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Statistics to interpret complex datasets and draw evidence-based conclusions.
- Demonstrated experience in Market Research and Research, including designing research approaches and validating data sources.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to present technical and non-technical findings clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort working with data tools such as spreadsheets, BI platforms, or statistical software (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, or Python) is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Data Science, Business, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple research tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with financial markets, corporate registries, or regulatory data is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and maintain high ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
