Ready, Set…..

As our new Retail Assistant, you will report to the Retail Manager and work collaboratively with the Assistant Manager and the team.

We require someone for up to 30 hours on a casual basis. Availability on weekends, public and school holidays is essential as we are open 365 days per year, however these shifts are shared fairly amongst the Retail team. Penalty rates will of course apply as per the Amusement, Events & Recreation Award 2020.





To succeed as our Retail Assistant you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be vibrant, positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite at all times.

At least 2 years experience in the retail and/or tourism industry is preferred, but not essential.

Your key focus areas will include:

- Greeting visitors in a timely fashion while quickly determining their needs.
- Bet attentive and respond to customer questions and requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Cleaning, re-stocking and organising retail area and merchandise.
- Assist with monthly stocktake within Souvenirs (Retail).
- Any stock transfer between Souvenirs and other departments.
- Posting of online stock orders to customers.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Accurate sales transacting and reporting.
- Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time.

You also will have to:
- Embrace and comply with our CATER Core Values.
- Comply with all safety procedures policies and guidelines.
- Provide each customer service interaction with a smile!
- Handle complaints in a sensitive manner or refer to your supervisor.
- Accurate sales transactions and cash handling.
- Experience operating POS systems and EFTPOS machines effectively and efficiently.
- Experience in cash handling.
- Be aware of days bookings/events.
- Multi-tasking and assisting other sections where required.
