Nursery Hand / Horticulturist – Full Time / Casual
Award-Winning Retail Nursery | Two Locations We are an award-winning retail nursery with two locations - Willow Park Nursery and Heritage Nursery - and are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Nursery Hand / Horticulturist to join our friendly and hardworking team.
We are looking for someone with horticultural knowledge and/or previous retail nursery experience who is confident assisting customers with plant selection, care and more technical horticultural advice.
This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a busy retail environment. The successful applicant must be available to work across both nursery locations and hold a valid Australian driver’s licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting customers with plant selection, identification, care and horticultural advice
- Providing knowledgeable and professional customer service
- Unpacking and unloading deliveries
- General nursery maintenance
- Repotting, watering, and plant care
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
What We’re Looking For
- A horticultural qualification and/or previous retail nursery experience
- Strong plant knowledge and the ability to confidently provide customers with practical plant advice
- Maturity, resilience, and reliability
- Strong physical fitness – must be capable of lifting and carrying items over 25kg
- Ability to work outdoors in a wide variety of weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and tidy personal presentation
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to multi-task
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
