Program Management Office (PMO) Assurance Officer – EL1

- 12-month contract with a further 12-month extension option
- Locations: Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane – onsite only
- Security clearance: Current TSPV security clearance required ; candidates must be able to meet the relevant security and suitability requirements
- Key skills: PMO assurance, risk and financial assurance, Test & Evaluation (T&E;), delivery health, benefits assurance, governance and portfolio reporting

Role This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMO Assurance Officer to support the delivery of complex, high-priority capabilities within a highly sensitive Australian Government environment. You will play a key role in providing independent assurance, analysing delivery performance and risks, and supporting executive-level reporting and governance. Your insights will help ensure projects and programs remain on track and deliver their intended outcomes and benefits.

Your duties will include:

- Support assurance reviews, assessments and testing across multiple projects and programs.
- Analyse project and portfolio data to identify risks, trends, issues and emerging delivery concerns.
- Maintain risk registers, monitor risk treatments and support portfolio-level risk reporting.
- Support financial assurance activities, including forecasting, funding utilisation and business case reviews.
- Coordinate Test & Evaluation assurance activities, readiness assessments, evidence collection and assurance actions.
- Contribute to delivery health, benefits realisation and executive reporting, including findings and recommendations for improvement.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

- Demonstrated experience providing PMO, portfolio, program or project assurance within complex environments.
- Strong capability in measurement, data analysis and performance reporting , with the ability to translate information into meaningful insights.




- Proven experience conducting quality assurance reviews, assessments, audits or compliance activities and identifying risks or non-conformances.
- Experience across risk assurance, financial assurance, Test & Evaluation, delivery health or benefits assurance .
- Robust stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to gather, analyse and synthesise complex information from project, program and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to provide specialist advice, develop clear findings and recommendations , and contribute to governance, assurance frameworks, standards and continuous improvement.
