Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sydney, NSW.

The Senior

Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting activities, including preparing financial statements, overseeing general ledger reconciliations, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing tax compliance for SMEs and international clients, preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting tax planning strategies, and liaising with regulatory authorities as needed. The role involves reviewing the work of junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship, and contributing to process improvements and internal controls.





The Senior

Accountant will also collaborate with clients to clarify financial issues, present findings, and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

- Strong technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Experience in tax compliance and planning for SMEs and international tax matters, including corporate and individual tax returns.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, spreadsheets, and general office productivity tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities in reviewing financial and tax data.
- Effective communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting and tax concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise junior staff, and to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., CA, CPA) is highly regarded.
- Experience in a public practice or similar professional services workplace, preferably with SME and international client exposure.
