About the Role
Hachem is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join our Melbourne studio. We are looking for someone who combines strong architectural and interior design thinking with excellent technical documentation skills, with experience or a strong understanding of high-end hotel and hospitality projects, and who can confidently contribute across concept design, design development, documentation and construction stages. Work on high-profile architecture, hotel and hospitality projects across Australia and APAC within a collaborative, design-led studio that values creative thinking, technical excellence and highly resolved design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural and interior design concepts from client briefs
- Prepare and manage high-quality drawing and documentation packages
- Produce plans, elevations, details, schedules and construction documentation
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects the design intent
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors and project teams
- Review and incorporate mark-ups and design changes
- Assist with construction administration and site coordination
- Contribute to material, finish and detailing decisions
- Work closely with senior leadership across all stages of project delivery
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture
- Minimum 7–10+ years’ professional experience
- Strong architectural and interior design sensibility
- Excellent Revit and AutoCAD skills
- Strong proficiency in Rhino is highly regarded
- Grasshopper experience advantageous
- Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Robust construction detailing and buildability knowledge
- Excellent technical documentation skills
- Experience in high-end hotel and hospitality architecture and interiors highly regarded
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills
- Authorized to work in Australia
Desirable
Mandarin language proficiency is highly regarded, given our work across Asia and international client base.
