We are an established allied health organisation with a strong reputation and we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team.

The Role
As Senior Bookkeeper, you will take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll requirements of the business, which includes a busy practice and a service company. You will work closely with the Practice Manager, Directors and external Accountant. You will manage multiple deadlines and provide accurate and timely financial support.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the routine bookkeeping requirements using Xero and Cliniko practice management software, including incoming mail, banking and petty cash.
- Processing 2 payrolls, including Commissions, Leave, Super and STP. Onboarding and other payroll functions, including interpreting the Health Services Award and meeting compliance requirements
- End to end accounts payable and supervision of the existing accounts receivable process
- Managing financial aspects of sub-lessees
- Preparing creditor payment and payroll runs and ABA files
- Cashflow management
- Completing bank, credit card, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing and reviewing BAS and IAS, Payroll tax and Workcover lodgements
- Preparing month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Working with the Practice Manager to prepare monthly reports for the Directors
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assisting the external Accountant with the preparation of budgets and cashflow reports
- Building strong relationships with all stakeholders and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
About You To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- A minimum of 5 years' end-to-end business bookkeeping experience and relevant qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Xero
- Experience with Cliniko practice management software or similar
- Knowledge of the Health Services Award
- End-to-end payroll experience
- A solid understanding of general ledger accounting, including debits, credits, coding and reconciliations
- Experience preparing BAS and completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
