The Hunt Melbourne

South Melbourne

The Hunt is excited to be partnering with Equilibrium to find an experienced Senior Club Manager to play a key leadership role in shaping the next chapter of this exciting new wellbeing concept.

Equilibrium is creating a new kind of wellbeing club — a place designed to help people feel better, function better and live better through a considered combination of movement, regulation, restoration and recovery.

Built around four interconnected pillars — Move. Regulate. Restore. Recover. — Equilibrium brings together practices, spaces and experiences designed to become an ongoing part of members' lives.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Club Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of Equilibrium's first club in South Melbourne. As the onsite leader and custodian of the member experience, you will take genuine ownership of the club — its people, operations, standards, culture and commercial performance.

This is a highly visible leadership role. You'll know your members, lead from the floor, develop an exceptional team and ensure every detail of the environment reflects what Equilibrium stands for.

Working closely with the Founder you'll also play an important role in shaping how Equilibrium operates as the business grows.

What You'll Own

Member Experience & Engagement

Create a warm, considered and highly personalised member experience. Build genuine relationships, understand how members use Equilibrium and continually identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, retention and belonging.

Club Operations

Own the day-to-day operation and presentation of the club. From ambience and cleanliness to suppliers, systems, maintenance and compliance, you'll notice the details and ensure the club operates exceptionally across weekdays, evenings and weekends.

People Leadership & Culture

Recruit, onboard,

coach and develop a high-performing onsite team. You'll lead from the floor, set clear expectations and build a culture of warmth, maturity, accountability and exceptional service.

Membership Growth & Retention

Understand why members join, why they stay and how they engage. You'll support membership conversion, onboarding, retention, referrals and initiatives that deepen members' connection with Equilibrium.

Commercial Performance

In partnership with the Founders, manage and guide the key commercial drivers, including membership, revenue, retention, utilisation, labour and operating costs. You'll understand the P&L;, deliver against agreed KPIs and use data alongside what you're seeing on the floor to make informed decisions.

Community & Local Connection

Build genuine relationships within the local community and identify aligned partnerships, events and opportunities that introduce the right people to Equilibrium.

What We're Looking For

You are an experienced operator and people leader who thrives in a premium, high-touch environment. You notice things other people don't. You care about the details, know your members or customers and genuinely enjoy being on the floor with your team.

You'll bring

- Significant leadership experience within a premium customer or member setting
- Experience leading the day-to-day operation of a complex physical venue
- Exceptional frontline people leadership and team development capability

- Strong commercial literacy across budgets, KPIs, labour and performance
- Experience with rostering, workforce planning, suppliers and operational systems
- Exceptional attention to presentation, service and operational detail
- Confidence using data and frontline insights to make decisions
- The ability to operate autonomously and take genuine ownership

Your Background

We're deliberately open-minded about where the right person comes from. You may have built your career within luxury or boutique hotels, premium hospitality, private members' clubs, premium lifestyle or leisure, resorts and retreats, luxury accommodation, or high-end fitness and wellbeing.

Experience within wellness is useful, but it isn't essential.

Why Equilibrium?

Equilibrium's first club is also the beginning of something larger. The service philosophy, operating model, member experience and culture established here will help define future Equilibrium locations.

For the right Senior Club Manager, this is an opportunity to do more than manage an existing operation.

It's an opportunity to help establish what Equilibrium becomes.

This is a full-time, onsite role based in South Melbourne, with appropriate weekend presence on a rotating basis.

About The Hunt

The Hunt is a Melbourne-based talent consultancy partnering with growing businesses across wellness, lifestyle and professional services. We believe great recruitment is about more than filling a role. It's about understanding the people, culture and opportunity behind it and creating thoughtful, long-term matches between exceptional people and businesses.

I'll be personally partnering with Equilibrium throughout this search and look forward to hearing your story.
