Quairading

AgRec is recruiting an experienced Farm Hand / Machinery Operator for a well-established broadacre cropping operation based near Quairading in WA’s Wheatbelt.

This is a full-time, ongoing position offering $40–$48 per hour + super, a work ute and a comfortable 4-bedroom family home in Quairading. The role would suit someone with at least two years of broadacre cropping experience who is confident operating modern machinery across spraying, seeding and harvest.

The farming operation covers approximately 4,646 hectares, with more than 4,300 hectares under crop, producing wheat, barley and canola. The business operates a modern machinery fleet including Case IH 8250 and 9250 headers, a Case 600 Steiger, Goldacres G6 self-propelled sprayer, JCB Fastrac 8330, Goldacres tow-behind sprayer, Nyrex chaser bin, Volvo FH16 truck and JCB telehandler.

Machinery is fitted with Trimble autosteer and precision agriculture technology, with Agworld used for farm records and Cropscan technology used during harvest.

The successful applicant will be involved across all major cropping operations throughout the year, including spraying, seeding, harvesting, spreading, machinery maintenance and general farm upkeep. You will also be responsible for accurately recording spraying and seeding activities.

Standard working hours are generally 7:30am to 5:00pm outside of peak periods. During seeding and harvest, approximately 12-hour days are expected, with some longer days during particularly busy periods.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years of practical farming experience, including exposure to spraying, seeding and harvest operations. An HR licence is required, while an MC licence would be highly regarded.

Chemical handling accreditation and a forklift ticket are also preferred, although the employer is open to helping the right person obtain these.

You will need to be reliable, capable of working independently, mechanically minded and comfortable taking responsibility for machinery and day-to-day farm tasks. Good attention to detail and clear written and verbal English communication are also significant.

The package includes

- $40–$48 per hour depending on experience
- Superannuation
- Full-time, ongoing employment
- Work ute provided
- 4-bedroom family home provided in Quairading
- Modern machinery and precision agriculture technology
- Long-term opportunity with an established cropping business

The provided accommodation is a comfortable 4-bedroom, 1-bathroom home in Quairading townsite. It includes ducted reverse-cycle air conditioning, a double lock-up garage, outdoor entertaining area, reticulated gardens and plenty of space for a family. The home can be supplied furnished or unfurnished, with white goods available if required. Quairading is located approximately 165km east of Perth and offers a good range of local services including shops, healthcare, sporting clubs, a pub and community facilities.

An immediate start is available, although applicants available from mid-January or February will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinery operator looking for secure, long-term employment with strong hourly rates, quality accommodation and involvement across the full cropping program.
