About the role As Senior Hire Controller, you will be one of the key points of contact for our customers while also working closely with the Branch Manager to help coordinate the daily operation of the branch.

You will provide support and guidance to the Hire Controller and branch team, help manage priorities throughout the day and ensure our customers continue to receive a high level of service. Think of the position as a 2IC to the Branch Manager for the day-to-day hire operation – still very hands-on with customers and administration, but with additional responsibility for coordination, decision-making and supporting the team.

Key responsibilities

- Providing qualified and friendly service to customers face-to-face and over the phone
- Supporting the Branch Manager with the smooth day-to-day operation of the branch
- Coordinating the allocation, delivery and collection of hire equipment
- Reviewing daily hire requirements and helping the team manage changing customer priorities




- Preparing and maintaining hire agreements, customer records and branch documentation
- Providing guidance and support to Hire Controllers and other branch staff
- Liaising with our workshop, drivers and wider branch network to keep equipment and customer requirements moving
- Assisting with purchase orders, invoicing and general branch administration
- Helping resolve customer enquiries and operational issues
- Supporting a positive, productive and safety-focused branch culture

About you

- Strong customer service, administration or operational coordination experience
- The confidence to provide guidance and support to other team members
- Excellent communication skills and a professional phone manner
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- Good computer skills and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise and make decisions in a busy environment
- A practical approach to problem solving
