Working with a values-driven organisation, you will play an important role in increasing community awareness, improving access to information and services, and supporting positive outcomes for women and victim-survivors of sexual violence.

Community Educator – Women's Health and Sexual Assault

n

This is a unique opportunity to combine community engagement, education, advocacy and project work within a specialised service that is committed to empowering women, promoting social justice and preventing gender-based violence.

n

In this role, you will coordinate, develop and facilitate community education and training programs across women's health and sexual assault awareness. You will work alongside government agencies, schools, tertiary institutions, health professionals and community organisations to increase knowledge, strengthen referral pathways and promote community understanding of key issues impacting women.

n

You will also contribute to awareness campaigns, advocacy initiatives and community events, while supporting partnerships and collaborative projects that drive meaningful social change. Activities may include involvement in initiatives such as International Women's Day, Reclaim the Night and Sexual Violence Awareness Month,



as well as contributing to policy submissions, reports and service development activities.

Funding for this position is currently secured through to December 2027.

About You:

You are passionate about empowering women and creating positive community outcomes. You bring a solid commitment to trauma-informed, client-centred and culturally respectful practice and can confidently engage with diverse stakeholders and audiences.

- Developing, coordinating and facilitating community education and training programs.
n
- Delivering awareness campaigns, presentations and workshops.
n
- Women's health, sexual assault support, counselling or health promotion.
n
- Community engagement, advocacy and stakeholder relationship management.
n
- Project planning,



consultation and community development activities.
n
- Working with women experiencing complex social and emotional health concerns.
n
- Supporting women from diverse cultural backgrounds, including First Nations women.
n
- Contributing to policy, reporting, program evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
n
- Applying feminist, trauma-informed and social justice frameworks in professional practice.
n

Your Skills & Experience:

n

n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Public Health, Allied Health or a related discipline.
n
- Current Working with Children Blue Card.
n
- Current Queensland Open C Class Driver Licence.
n
- Demonstrated experience within women's health, sexual assault support, counselling, health promotion, community education or related fields.
n
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
n
- The ability to develop, facilitate and activate community education and training initiatives.
n
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and community partnership skills.
n
- Experience working within trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice frameworks.
n
- A commitment to advocacy, empowerment and socially just outcomes for women.
n
