Turf Management & Irrigation Apprenticeships - Adelaide, SA
n
Kickstart your career in the turf and irrigation industry with a hands-on apprenticeship working across some of South Australia's golf courses, sporting grounds, council reserves, schools and landscaped spaces.
n
Programmed Apprenticeships & Traineeships are seeking motivated individuals to join our client, a leading South Australian turf and irrigation company with over 20 years of industry experience.
n
We currently have opportunities available across two apprenticeship pathways:
n
n
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
n
- Certificate III in Irrigation Technology
n
n
You'll work alongside experienced industry professionals, gaining practical skills while completing a nationally recognised qualification.
n
This is a mobile role working across various sites throughout metropolitan Adelaide. You will report directly to your allocated worksite rather than a central depot.
n
About the Opportunities
n
If you enjoy working outdoors and have an interest in sports grounds, golf courses, horticulture or turf maintenance, this could be the perfect chance to turn that interest into a career.

You'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of turf environments and learn how to:
n
n
- Maintain and prepare sports turf surfaces, golf courses and playing fields
n
- Operate and maintain equipment including ride‐on mowers, tractors and whipper snippers
n
- Assist with turf renovation programs
n
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems
n
- Control weeds, pests, diseases and turf disorders
n
- Safely undertake chemical spraying
n
- Conduct turf assessments and assist with turf management plans
n
- Work safely in outdoor environments and follow WHS procedures
n
n
Irrigation Apprenticeship
n
The Irrigation Apprenticeship is ideal for someone interested in learning the technical side of irrigation systems and developing practical skills across a range of outdoor environments.
n
You'll learn how to:
n
n
- Install, operate and maintain irrigation systems
n
- Read and interpret irrigation plans
n
- Install pressurised systems, pumps and drainage systems
n
- Monitor soil and site conditions
n
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems
n
- Work with modern technology including sensor‐based controllers
n
- Apply environmentally sustainable irrigation practices
n
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements
n
n
You'll develop a broad range of skills in irrigation installation, maintenance and management while working across a variety of sites throughout South Australia.
n
Location: Various worksites across metropolitan Adelaide
n
What We're Looking For

We're looking for applicants who have:
n
n
- A genuine interest in turf management, irrigation or working outdoors
n
- A willingness to learn and commit to completing an apprenticeship
n
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
n
- A reliable, punctual and enthusiastic attitude
n
- The ability to work well as part of a team
n
- A White Card
n
- A current driver's licence, or be in the process of obtaining one,
is preferred
n
n
Turf applicants only: You will also be required to obtain a WWCC and relevant Catholic school clearances.
