About the role

We are currently seeking 3x Road Workers to join our state government client's team based at the Fernbank Creek Depot. This is a great opportunity for candidates with construction, road work or general labouring experience to join a team and assist with a variety of physical and routine tasks.

n

In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and repetitive physical tasks using hand and power tools, machinery and equipment, either independently or as part of a team assisting more skilled workers, including Road Workers, Trades Workers and Machinery Operators.

n

The position will commence ASAP and run through to 19 December 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role offers a 9-day fortnight, with overtime likely each day of up to 2 hours.

Duties

n

n
- Perform a variety of routine and repetitive physical labouring tasks.
n
- Assist Road Workers, Trades Workers, Machinery Operators and Drivers as required.
n
- Use hand and power tools and machinery safely and effectively.
n
- Undertake general construction and road work activities.
n
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
- Assist with tasks requiring physical effort and repetitive manual work.
n
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and procedures.
n

Skills and Experience

n

n




- Construction White Card – essential.
n
- Workers on Foot (WOF) ticket – essential (or willing to obtain prior to commencement)
n
- Current driver's licence – essential.
n
- Previous construction experience – essential.
n
- Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive physical tasks.
n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
n
- Ability to pass a National Police Check – essential.
n

Highly regarded

n

- Implementation of Traffic Control Plans ticket.
n
- Prepare Works Zone Traffic Management Plan ticket.
n
- Current MR truck licence.
n
- Plant operator competencies, particularly rollers, excavators and loaders.
n
