We are seeking an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist with around 10 years' experience to take a leading technical role within our Geotechnical and Groundwater teams. This role suits a hydrogeologist with strong project delivery experience who is comfortable leading hydrogeological investigations, developing and reviewing groundwater models, providing technical input to design, mentoring junior staff and liaising directly with clients and project stakeholders.
Experience on major infrastructure projects, particularly involving tunnels, deep excavations, dewatering or groundwater control, would be highly regarded.
Your role will include (but is not limited to):
- Lead and manage hydrogeological investigations, from scoping and proposal through to reporting and client delivery.
- Provide technical design inputs for major infrastructure projects, including tunnels, deep excavations, dewatering systems and groundwater control measures.
- Lead and contribute to the development, calibration and interpretation of conceptual and numerical groundwater models, including transient modelling, sensitivity analyses and assessment of groundwater inflows, drawdown and groundwater impacts.
- Work collaboratively with geotechnical, civil and other design disciplines to develop groundwater-related design criteria, assess design options and manage hydrogeological risks.
- Direct and review fieldwork including drilling, aquifer testing and groundwater monitoring programs.
- Review and quality-check technical reports, proposals and project deliverables prepared by junior team members.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to hydrogeologists and other junior technical staff.
- Liaise directly with clients, designers, contractors, regulators and other project stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development, client relationships and identifying new project opportunities.
- Apply broad hydrogeological knowledge and support geotechnical projects as needed.

About You
- Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or similar, with a hydrogeology focus.
- ~10+ years' experience in consulting/industry, with a strong track record of project delivery and client management.
- Demonstrated design experience on infrastructure projects (e.g. dewatering, groundwater control, or geotechnical/civil design input) highly regarded.
- Advanced skills with groundwater modelling tools (e.g., MODFLOW, SEEP/W) and strong conceptual model development.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff and review technical work.
- Excellent analytical, communication and technical writing skills.
- Sound knowledge of NSW groundwater guidelines and regulatory frameworks, with some knowledge of other states’ regulations considered desirable.
- Safe, proactive, organised, team-oriented and willing to travel for fieldwork as required.
