An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a well-established Australian law firm with a national presence and a strong reputation within the personal injury and Workers Compensation space. The firm is a growing, mid-tier practice with a collaborative and supportive culture. With a sizeable team across multiple offices, this is an excellent opportunity to join an established organisation while working closely with experienced lawyers and Partners.
This role would suit a highly organised Legal Secretary who has strong Workers Compensation experience and enjoys working in a rapid-paced, client-focused legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to Partners and senior lawyers.
- Manage complex diaries, appointments, meetings and important deadlines.
- Prepare,
format and manage legal correspondence, documentation and reports.
- Manage client files from opening through to completion, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise professionally with clients, insurers, medical providers, barristers and other external stakeholders.
- Assist with Workers Compensation matters, including obtaining medical evidence and managing relevant documentation.
- Prepare and assist with billing, time recording and invoicing.
- Coordinate documentation and administrative requirements for conferences, settlements, hearings and other legal proceedings.
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years' experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally supporting senior lawyers or Partners.
- Strong Workers Compensation experience (essential).
- Excellent knowledge of legal administration, file management and legal documentation.
- Previous exposure to billing, time recording and invoicing.
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
