Technology Continuity & Resilience Senior Manager

We are partnering with a regulated Australian financial services organisation to appoint a Technology Continuity & Resilience Senior Manager to take ownership of its enterprise Technology Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Technology Resilience capability.

You will own the end-to-end technology resilience framework across infrastructure, applications, cloud platforms, SaaS and data, ensuring critical technology services are recoverable, regularly tested and aligned with APRA CPS 230 requirements.

The role will work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cyber Security, Risk, Compliance and senior executives.

What you'll be responsible for

Disaster Recovery Strategy & Architecture

- Own and continuously improve the enterprise Disaster Recovery strategy
- Define appropriate DR architecture patterns, including active-active, pilot light, warm standby and cold standby
- Embed resilience and recovery requirements into technology architecture, cloud transformation, infrastructure and change programs
- Ensure appropriate backup, replication, failover, recovery and redundancy across critical Tier 1 and Tier 2 systems
- Partner with Architecture and Engineering teams to build resilience into technology by design

DR Testing, Failover & Recovery

- Design and lead an enterprise Disaster Recovery testing program
- Run tabletop exercises, component recovery tests, parallel testing, live failover and failback
- Test realistic scenarios including: ransomware and cyber incidents, data centre outages, cloud platform failures, infrastructure failures, SaaS outages
- Validate and report against RTO and RPO




- Identify recovery gaps, risks and remediation activities

Business Continuity & Operational Resilience

- Own and maintain the technology Business Continuity Management framework
- Support compliance with APRA CPS 230
- Lead and support Business Impact Assessments (BIA)
- Define critical services, dependencies and operational tolerances
- Maintain continuity plans and critical operations registers
- Provide clear resilience reporting to executive and board-level stakeholders

Incident & Crisis Management

- Act as a senior Technology Disaster Recovery Lead during major incidents
- Support Severity 1 / Severity 2 incident response and recovery
- Coordinate technology recovery across infrastructure, cloud, applications and vendors
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive ongoing improvements in resilience capability

Third-Party & Cloud Resilience

- Assess the resilience and DR capability of critical technology vendors and service providers
- Lead joint recovery testing with strategic third parties
- Challenge supplier BCP, DR, RTO and RPO arrangements
- Ensure resilience across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud / GCP, SaaS and hybrid environments

Technical exposure Hands-on knowledge or solid familiarity with technologies such as:

- Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity
- Infrastructure & Storage: VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage
- Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
- Networking & Failover: DNS, BGP, load balancing
- Recovery: replication, backup, failover/failback, high availability, RTO, RPO
- Frameworks & Regulation: APRA CPS 230, ISO 22301, ITIL
