About the role

Measured Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our team in either Perth or Brisbane, delivering practical, high-quality mine planning and engineering outcomes across a range of client projects.

This role will suit an open pit mining engineer who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a commitment to producing work that clients can rely on.

Offering broader exposure than a traditional single-site position, you will work across multiple assets and commodities, strengthen your capability in mine planning and drill and blast, and build further experience in mine economics, feasibility studies and technical due diligence.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver mining engineering and consulting assignments to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements
- Complete open pit mine design, including pits, waste dumps, haul roads and supporting site layouts
- Develop and review short-, medium- and long-term mine schedules
- Contribute to Scoping, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies, Mineral Reserve work and technical due diligence
- Analyse mine planning and model outputs, identify key insights and communicate findings clearly to clients
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, proposals and supporting documentation to a high professional standard
- Apply appropriate engineering checks, assumptions and quality assurance processes to all deliverables
- Liaise with clients, contractors and internal multidisciplinary teams
- Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of team capability
- Undertake occasional travel to client offices and mine sites as required

About you

- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or an equivalent recognised discipline




- At least 8 years of relevant mining industry experience, with robust open pit exposure
- Demonstrated capability in mine design and mine scheduling across short-, medium- and/or long-term planning horizons
- Practical understanding of mining operations, engineering practices and the drivers of safe, achievable mine plans
- Proficiency in relevant mine planning software. Experience with packages such as Spry, Vulcan or Deswik is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters clearly
- Commercial and practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality under pressure
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Full working rights in Australia and a current Australian driver licence
