Working across wastewater, potable water, mechanical, low- and high-voltage electrical, and ICT infrastructure, you will help take projects from an identified business need through planning, feasibility, business case development, design, and ultimately readiness for delivery.
You will work closely with technical specialists, operational teams, consultants and senior stakeholders to define project requirements and establish the scope, budget, program, delivery strategy and investment case.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and development of multidisciplinary utilities and infrastructure projects
- Developing project briefs, feasibility studies, business cases and investment proposals
- Defining project scope, budgets, schedules, delivery strategies and measures of success
- Coordinating technical, operational, commercial and regulatory stakeholders
- Managing project risks, assumptions,
constraints and interfaces during the development phase
- Leading consultants through investigations, concept development and design
- Preparing governance, approval and funding documentation
- Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, schedules and key milestones
- Providing project analysis, recommendations and strategic advice to senior stakeholders
- Supporting the transition of approved projects into delivery and construction teams
Foundation for Success You will already have experience working across infrastructure, utilities, engineering or capital works projects and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your project development capabilities.
Importantly, this role suits someone who enjoys working through the complexity at the beginning of a project: understanding the problem, bringing stakeholders together, and establishing the pathway forward.
You will bring:
- Project management experience within infrastructure, utilities, engineering or capital works
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary stakeholders
- An understanding of project planning, feasibility, scope development and governance
- Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and forecasts
- Strong written communication and the ability to prepare clear project and approval documentation
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities
- An interest in developing greater capability across strategic infrastructure planning and investment decision-making
