APS6 Senior Project Officer - Child Support Reform Program
Location: Brisbane, QLD; Hobart, TAS; Wollongong, NSW; Adelaide, SA; Melbourne, VIC; Greenway, ACT
Contract: Labour-hire contract to 30 June 2027 (possible extension options available for the right candidate, pending budget decisions as always)
Pay: $80 - $100 p/h including super (negotiable)
Work type: Full time
Work arrangement: Hybrid, with on-site onboarding and specific arrangements agreed with your supervisor on a case-by-case basis
Clearance: Must hold a current Baseline clearance or above
About the Role
You will support a major Federal Government project delivering important child support reform work. This is a hands-on APS6 project delivery role focused on keeping plans, governance, reporting, risks, issues and stakeholder actions moving.
You will work closely with the Project Director and stakeholders across business, policy, legal, technology and program areas. The role suits someone who takes ownership, follows actions through and raises delivery risks before they become delays.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and dependency information
- Coordinate governance inputs, status reporting and project documentation
- Prepare governance papers, briefings, action tracking and meeting outcomes
- Draft briefs, business cases, decision papers and other project products
- Monitor action registers,
deliverables, deadlines, risks and issues
- Follow up action owners and escalate emerging delays
- Coordinate stakeholders across multidisciplinary delivery areas
- Support procurement, contract and supplier management where required
What You Bring (Essential Criteria)
- You've applied project and program management frameworks in practical delivery work
- You've maintained project controls across plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and actions
- You've coordinated governance, reporting and documentation for complex projects
- You can draft clear briefs, business cases and decision papers for senior audiences
- You can coordinate stakeholders across several business and delivery disciplines
- You're organised and can manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- You're an Australian citizen
- You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above
Nice to Have (Desirable Criteria)
- Experience in complex government or large organisational environments
- Child support, collections, payment compliance or social services reform experience
- Procurement, contract or supplier management experience
- Experience in a large Commonwealth service-delivery environment
