ABOUT THE COMPANY

This organisation is a major player in construction materials, turning recovered waste into high specification products used across roads, rail and civil infrastructure projects. It operates as part of a global materials group with a genuine sustainability story behind what it produces. The safety function here is well established and highly regarded internally, backed by a business that offers real career pathways, structured leadership development and the ability to move across a much wider network of sites nationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

HSEQ Advisor. Reports to the General Manager, transitioning to the National HSEQ Manager as the broader team is consolidated. No direct reports. This is a hands on, plant based role covering three core operational sites, replacing an advisor within an already well established function. The role exists to strengthen critical risk controls on the ground and be a genuine, trusted presence for plant teams day to day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide expert HSEQ advice to staff and management across assigned sites
- Deliver daily visible leadership activities including safety conversations, critical control checks and site walks
- Assess whether critical risk controls are genuinely effective, not just present on paper
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, recommending corrective actions
- Support audits and inspections against the national auditing schedule

- Deliver HSEQ training and awareness sessions
- Assist with injury management and workers compensation cases
- Contribute to the national HSEQ strategy and annual improvement plan

THE ESSENTIALS

- Proven experience in a WHS or HSEQ role within a high risk industry
- Strong understanding of critical risk management and control effectiveness
- Working knowledge of environmental requirements, including dust and silica management
- Working understanding of health requirements such as drug and alcohol testing and fitness for work programs
- Familiarity with return to work and workers compensation processes
- Comfortable spending the majority of your time on the plants rather than behind a desk
- Full drivers licence
- Please note this role also requires applicants who hold full, unrestricted working rights within Australia and those who are already on-shore

THE ADVANTAGES

- Fully maintained company vehicle
- Structured career pathways and leadership development programs
- Backing of a global materials group with opportunities across sites nationally
- Employee assistance program and wellbeing support
- Employee discounts, novated leasing and salary sacrifice options

NEXT STEPS

Apply with your current CV and a brief note on your background. Applications are reviewed as received. Alternatively, call direct for a confidential discussion.
