About the role
We’re seeking a confident, experienced and highly organised Senior Medical Receptionist to join our Myhealth general practice in Wellington Point on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced medical receptionist who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop towards a Practice Manager position.You’ll play an important role in the day-to-day operations of the practice, supporting the team, contributing to a positive patient experience and gaining exposure to the broader responsibilities of practice management.

Working closely with the Area Manager and wider team, you’ll have the opportunity to build your leadership, operational and practice management skills while remaining hands-on within reception.

Day in the Life:

- Greeting patients and efficiently managing patient check-ins and registration
- Overseeing and maintaining diary scheduling in collaboration with the Clinical Team, including waitlist management, new patient bookings and rescheduling appointments
- Supporting the Area Manager with the day-to-day operations of the practice




- Providing guidance and support to the reception team and helping ensure smooth patient flow
- Assisting with Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, HICAPS and Private Health Insurance billing
- Handling patient queries and feedback professionally and ensuring a positive patient experience
- Supporting administrative and operational tasks that contribute to the effective running of the practice
- Taking initiative to identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows and the overall patient experience

What we're looking for:

- Previous experience in a senior medical reception or 2IC role within a General Practice
- A genuine interest in developing your career towards Practice Management
- Strong understanding of medical reception operations and patient workflows
- Best Practice experience (desirable)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, HICAPS and Private Health Insurance billings
- Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritisation of workflow
- A confident, proactive and positive approach with a willingness to take on additional responsibility
- A genuine passion for supporting your team and delivering an excellent patient experience
