The Encoreship Role: People & Culture Executive
This opportunity forms part of The Encoreship program, a return-to-work initiative for people who identify as women and have experienced an extended period away 12+months from the workforce. To be considered for this role, applicants must meet The Encoreship program eligibility criteria.
DISSH are proud to be partnering with The Encoreship for a 3-month placement within our People and Culture team. This is a fixed-term opportunity from early October 2026 to January 2027.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this role was designed to support your return to the workforce through hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure across the full employee lifecycle. You’ll develop practical skills across talent acquisition, people operations and sustainability, while contributing to meaningful projects that positively impact our business and people.
Beyond day-to-day experience, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to strategic People & Culture initiatives, attend key meetings and industry events, and help bring projects to life across our talent and sustainability spaces. Throughout the placement, you’ll be supported by experienced leaders and teammates who are invested in helping you rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and thrive in your next chapter.
We understand that every Encorer’s journey is different and that flexibility looks different for everyone. This chance can be worked either full-time or part-time (minimum three days per week) and offers a hybrid working arrangement to support your transition back into the workforce.
How will you contribute?
- Support end-to-end recruitment activity across DISSH, from creating compelling job ads and screening applications through to interviewing and onboarding new team members.
- Partner closely with our Senior Talent Partner on hiring across both our Support Centre and Retail teams.
- Assist with seasonal recruitment campaigns for our stores and Distribution Centre, helping us attract and connect with exceptional talent.
- Collaborate with our Sustainability & Impact Manager to support and deliver internal and external impact initiatives.
- Contribute to People & Culture projects that strengthen our employee experience, culture, and impact across the business.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in recruitment, HR, administration, customer service, or a related field is welcomed, but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for people.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Confidence using technology and willingness to learn new systems and tools.
- A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset.
- A desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a purpose-led business.
- Committed to personal growth and willing to be kind and patient with yourself as you navigate this exciting new chapter.
