About the role
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world for the Australian Defence Force
We are seeking a Senior Technical Officer - Structural/Mechanical to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program based at HAMS Albatross, Nowra, NSW. In this role, you will provide sustainment engineering support to theEC-135 helicopter fleet, helping deliver the mission of training Australian Army and Navy pilots and aircrew.
The successful candidate will ideally have knowledge and understanding of the Australian Defence Force rotary wing workplace, structure, and capability.
Responsibilities
- Work in a collaborative, multi-disciplined team environment to support the continuing airworthiness of the HATS EC-135 helicopter fleet;
- Respond to technical queries raised by maintenance and support staff;
- Conduct technical analysis, flight safety reviews, investigations, and develop modifications and repairs related to aircraft structural, mechanical, and propulsion systems;
- Analyse structural and engine data in support of the structural integrity program;
- Interpret Technical Information (TI) and generate required engineering outputs;
- Conduct technical investigations;
- Assess and amend aviation publications and instructions; and
- Generate and maintain solutions to ensure our fleet's airworthiness in theDefence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR)environment.
Experience/Qualifications
- Qualifications in aviation engineering or equivalent technical experience in a Structural/Mechanical discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Aviation);
- Experience in an aviation maintenance environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
