TEQSA currently has multiple ongoing and non-ongoing (up to 18 months) opportunities for APS6 Senior Regulatory Assessment Managers and APS5 Regulatory Assessment Managers. These roles are responsible for undertaking tasks to support the comprehensive assessment of:

- Risk to compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
- Possible non-compliance with the relevant standards and legislation
- Applications involving higher education providers.

The primary duties of an APS6 Senior Regulatory Assessment Manager include:

- Undertaking complex risk-based assessments of higher education provider applications, reviewing, and analysing evidence submitted by providers and derived from other sources, interpreting legislation, and applying sound judgment to prepare well-argued reports / recommendations for consideration by decision makers.
- Undertaking complex risk-based assessments and investigations of possible non-compliance with the TEQSA Act, ESOS Act, or subordinate regulatory legislation, and applying sound judgment to prepare well-argued recommendations for consideration by decision makers.
- Planning and conducting intelligence activities using valuable operational judgement.
- Using knowledge of precedents, relevant legislation, standards, policy, procedures, and guidelines to interpret and analyse assessments involving moderate to high complexity and sensitivity.
- Managing communications with providers and other stakeholders and responding in a timely manner.
- Building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and responding to their needs to achieve work priorities and agency goals.
- Working effectively and harmoniously in a team, managing competing and complex priorities, solving problems, and providing advice and support to others as required.

The primary duties of an APS5 Regulatory Assessment Manager include:

- Undertaking less complex risk-based assessments of higher education provider applications, reviewing, and analysing evidence submitted by providers and derived from other sources, interpreting legislation,



and applying sound judgment to prepare well-argued reports / recommendations for consideration by decision makers.
- Undertaking less complex risk-based assessments and investigations of possible non-compliance with the TEQSA Act, ESOS Act, or subordinate regulatory legislation, and applying sound judgment to prepare well-argued recommendations for consideration by decision makers.
- Conducting intelligence activities using good operational judgement
- Applying working knowledge of precedents, relevant legislation, standards, policy, procedures, and guidelines to interpret and analyse assessments involving moderate complexity and sensitivity.
- Undertaking analysis of information and data related to higher education providers’ operations, students, and staff to assess risk.
- As required, supporting delivery of assigned regulatory functions and working with leaders to prioritise work assigned to those functions.
- As required, supporting the delivery of annual risk assessment cycles and risk monitoring programs.
- Managing communications with providers and other stakeholders and responding in a timely manner.
- Building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and responding to their needs to achieve work priorities and agency goals.
- Working effectively and harmoniously in a team, managing competing priorities, solving problems, and providing advice and support to others as required.

The successful applicant must:
- be an Australian citizen.
- complete a National Police Check satisfactorily.
- be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance to Baseline status, supported by TEQSA.

- This recruitment process is being used to fill multiple ongoing and non-ongoing (up to 18 months) APS6 and APS5 vacancies within the Regulatory Operations Division.
- Successful candidates may be placed in any one of the groups/teams within the Regulatory Operations Division and may be required to work in another team after 6-12 months as operational needs require.
- A merit pool of suitable applicants will be created from this process and may be used to fill similar ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies within Regulatory Operations. It is active for 18 months from the date of this advertisement.
- Before commencing in the role, the successful candidate will be required to disclose details of any material personal interests in connection with their employment at TEQSA via a Declaration of Interest form and seek approval to undertake any outside employment (paid or unpaid) via an Outside Employment application.
