Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Echuca, VIC, responsible for managing complex tax engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, and providing proactive tax planning and advisory services. The role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, collaborating with colleagues to resolve technical accounting and tax issues, and maintaining accurate and organized documentation.

Accountant will also liaise directly with clients, explain tax implications in accessible terms,



support junior staff through mentoring and review of their work, and contribute to improving internal processes and workflows.

Qualifications

- Strong tax-focused skills, including Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and a broad understanding of Tax legislation and regulations.
- Solid technical accounting capabilities, including experience with Accounting principles and preparation and review of Financial Statements.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) is highly regarded.
- Experience in public practice or advisory roles, ideally at a senior or supervisory level, with demonstrated client-facing responsibility.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, robust Excel skills, and the ability to adapt to new systems quickly.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Explicit written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax and accounting concepts to clients in a practical way.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and collaborative work within a diverse and inclusive team environment.
