- are a self-starter with technical expertise in Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST)
- have relevant qualifications and/or experience

Assist with preparation and lodgement of the department's annual FBT return and monthly BAS including:
- Benefit data quality assurance, developing and maintaining Excel worksheets, and collating supporting documentation
- Assist with preparation and lodgement of the monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) for the department and National Emergency Management Agency and lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office
- Research and provide advice on FBT and GST
- Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) and detailed analysis of GST transactions
- Reconcile tax related general ledger accounts and prepare FBT and GST journals
Additional information The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- Demonstrated knowledge of FBT requirements for large employers
- Demonstrated tax experience
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
- A tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce or Law or equivalent
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
- ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
- Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
