SERVICE ADVISOR – AWARD WINNING TRUCK WORKSHOP

Following a recent internal promotion and restructure within our Service Department, Bendigo Truck Centre is looking for a motivated and highly organised Service Advisor to join our busy mechanical workshop.

Representing Bendigo Hino, Bendigo IVECO and Bendigo Hyundai Trucks, we operate a fast-paced multi franchised workshop supporting a large and diverse customer base across Bendigo and regional Victoria.

This is an significant customer-facing role and we are looking for someone who wants to be exceptionally good at what they do.

You don't necessarily need years of Service Advisor experience. Mechanical knowledge or experience within the automotive, truck or transport industry would be highly regarded. More importantly, you need to be switched on, organised, commercially minded, technologically capable and able to learn quickly.

THE ROLE

As a Service Advisor, you will be the critical link between our customers and our workshop.

Your responsibilities will include

- Booking vehicles and managing customer requirements
- Accurately documenting faults, concerns and requested repairs
- Communicating with technicians and workshop management
- Keeping customers informed throughout the repair process
- Preparing estimates and gaining customer authorisation




- Ensuring customers understand the work required and the value of completing it
- Following up & seeking approval for additional work identified by our technicians
- Managing multiple jobs, customers and priorities simultaneously
- Ensuring repair orders are accurate costed and closed daily
- Helping maximise workshop productivity, customer retention and service sales
- Effectively using our Dealer Management System and other digital platforms

We want someone who understands that a great Service Advisor doesn't simply mean you take bookings. A successful service advisor is one who actively manages the customer's vehicle, identify opportunities, communicate recommendations professionally and make sure we deliver on time and on promise, every time, without exception or excuse.

ABOUT YOU To succeed in this role, you MUST HAVE :

- Excellent computer skills are essential for this role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill are essential for the role
- Exceptional time management and organisation is essential for the role
- Mechanical aptitude is highly desirable. Preferably on tool experience
- Confidence and competence using current technology and digital tools
- A willingness to embrace emerging technology, including AI, to work smarter, communicate better and improve efficiency
- The ability to listen, take direction and follow established processes
- The ability to learn quickly and retain information
- Confidence dealing with customers both face-to-face and over the phone
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to remain organised and effective when the workshop gets busy
- A proactive attitude rather than waiting to be told what needs doing
- A strong customer-service mindset combined with commercial awareness
- A genuine desire to develop into an outstanding Service Advisor

You may already be an experienced Service Advisor, or you may currently work in a mechanical environment and be looking for an opportunity to move into a customer-facing position.

Remuneration:

An attractive salary package commensurate with experience, plus a monthly gross profit-based commission structure and superannuation.
