Social Media Manager & Content Creator — Part-Time (Vernay)

About Vernay

Vernay is a premium single-origin French oak timber brand, supplying architects, interior designers, builders, and joiners across Australia and Recent Zealand. We import French oak directly from Burgundy and offer French Fir, an old-growth Douglas Fir exterior façade product. We're building our brand presence from the ground up — and we want the same energy that goes into our timber to come through in how we show up online.

The Role

We're looking for someone who lives and breathes content creation to build Vernay's presence on Instagram — mainly through Reels. You'll be the person behind the camera and the edit, turning our product, our people, and our process into content that actually gets watched, shared, and remembered.

This isn't a "post and hope" role. You'll plan, film, edit, schedule, and post — end to end.

What You'll Do

- Plan and produce a regular cadence of Instagram Reels, mixing educational content, behind-the-scenes, and product storytelling
- Film at our Bundamba warehouse (roughly 1 day/week)



— including interview-style content with our founder talking through the product and what sets it apart
- Shoot on location when needed — job site installs, incoming shipments, events
- Edit and post content, working from home the rest of the week
- Manage the content calendar and posting schedule
- Keep an eye on what's landing (and what's not) and adjust the approach accordingly

What We're Looking For

- A strong portfolio or reel showreel — we care much more about what you've made than your CV
- Comfortable filming and editing short-form video solo (phone or camera — your choice of kit)
- An eye for what makes content stop the scroll on Instagram specifically
- Confident directing others on camera (you'll be interviewing our founder and site teams)
- Reliable, self-organised, happy working independently across a hybrid schedule
- Based in or around Brisbane/Ipswich, with a car (warehouse and job sites aren't always public-transport friendly)
