Bridge IT Engineering is recruiting three Senior Software Engineers to work with a major Australian Government department on a strategic technology program.

About the Role The role is focused on designing, developing, integrating and supporting secure, scalable and resilient cloud-native applications and services on AWS. You will work across Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS services, microservices, APIs, serverless and event-driven architecture, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Integration

Design and develop cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integration services.

Build event-driven, serverless and containerised solutions across AWS.

AWS Cloud Development

Work with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS and Step Functions.

Design secure and resilient solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and AWS best practices.

DevOps & Infrastructure

Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK.

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment and infrastructure provisioning.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

Contribute to solution design,



architecture reviews and technical design workshops.

Provide technical guidance on AWS, cloud-native architecture, software design and systems integration.

To thrive in this role, you will ideally have the following skills

- Strong senior-level software engineering experience
- Strong AWS cloud development experience
- Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript and/or TypeScript
- Microservices, APIs and distributed systems
- Serverless, event-driven and containerised architectures
- Terraform, CloudFormation and/or AWS CDK
- CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Strong software and systems design capability
- Automated testing, debugging and production support
- Experience working in Agile multidisciplinary teams
- Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
- Australian Government or highly regulated workplace experience will be highly regarded
- Experience with maritime, intelligence, surveillance, geospatial or real-time data platforms will be highly regarded
