About the role

Diligent Electrical is seeking a Solar Apprentice Electrician / Trades Assistant / Laborer to join our dynamic team in Perth, WA 6000. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for someone passionate about renewable energy and keen to launch a career in the electrical trades. You will work alongside experienced electricians, gaining hands-on experience in solar installation, electrical systems, and site safety.

This role is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality solar solutions to our customers whilst building a skilled and dedicated workforce.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting experienced electricians with solar panel installation, roof work, and electrical system setup on residential and commercial projects
- Preparing work sites, organising tools and materials, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Learning and applying electrical safety protocols, including working at heights, electrical hazard awareness, and site-specific safety procedures
- Performing general labouring tasks including digging, cable routing, and carrying equipment as required
- Installing and connecting electrical components, cabling, and inverters under direct supervision
- Assisting with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting solar systems
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and time sheets
- Communicating effectively with team members and customers on site
- Contributing to a positive, safety-focused team culture and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

- A keen interest in the electrical trades and renewable energy sector
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to learning
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights safely and comfortably
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to job sites across Perth
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively




- High standard of personal presentation and professionalism
- Formal qualifications or pre-apprenticeship training in electrical work (preferred but not essential)
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it (advantageous)
- A positive attitude towards health and safety practices on site
