Kay+Lynch is a boutique entertainment, media and arts law firm based in Surry Hills, NSW.
We are looking for a solicitor to join our growing team.
The role is ideally suited to candidates in their first two to three years of legal practice, however recent and new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Our practice advises clients across the entertainment, media, arts and creative industries on a broad range of commercial, intellectual property, regulatory and dispute-related matters. Our clients range from major businesses, government agencies, producers and cultural institutions to musicians, filmmakers, authors, visual artists and other creatives.
The ideal candidate will be personable, practical and detail-oriented, with robust written and verbal communication skills. They will be confident engaging with a broad range of clients, from business executives, government representatives and producers to emerging artists and creative practitioners.
Candidates will have strong, demonstrable commercial or legal experience, preferably in the entertainment, media or creative industries. Candidates will ideally have completed one or more of the following university subjects:
- Intellectual Property Law;
- Media Law; and/or
- Entertainment Law.
Litigation experience will also be viewed favourably.
We encourage applications from candidates who may not meet every criterion but who can demonstrate many of the skills and attributes outlined above. We are looking for the right fit, not a perfect resume.
You will work closely with our principals, Ben Kay and Tom Lynch, senior solicitor Alberta McKenzie, solicitor Ru Subramaniam and, on occasion, Ben’s dog, Pavlova.

This is primarily an office-based role and the successful candidate will be expected to work from our Surry Hills office. The role is not suitable for candidates seeking a fully remote position.
