The Opportunity
n
Start your career in mechanical engineering with MidCoast Council through an apprenticeship in our Water Operations team. You'll gain hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade through TAFE.
n
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll develop practical skills in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in a water operations environment. This is a great prospect to earn while you learn and build a strong foundation for your future career.

What You'll Learn:
n
n
- Hands-on experience maintaining mechanical systems and equipment across water and wastewater facilities.
n
- Practical skills in inspecting, servicing, repairing and installing mechanical equipment.
n
- An understanding of pumps, motors, valves and other equipment used in water operations.
n
- How to safely complete planned and unplanned mechanical maintenance.
n
- How to work effectively with experienced tradespeople while completing your apprenticeship training
n

We're Looking for Someone Who:

- Has a genuine interest in mechanical engineering and water operations.
n
- Is motivated to develop a career in the mechanical trade.
n
- Demonstrates reliability, commitment and a willingness to learn.
n
- Enjoys practical work and solving mechanical problems.

- Works safely and cooperatively as part of a team.

- Holds a P1 driver's licence or is working towards obtaining one.
