State Transport Manager – Queensland

We’re looking for an experienced State Transport Manager to lead our Queensland transport operations and drive strong performance across safety, service, people and operational delivery.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands the realities of a fast-paced transport environment and can confidently lead teams, manage day-to-day operations and build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

About the role

As State Transport Manager – QLD, you will take ownership of transport operations across the state, ensuring our people, fleet and resources are effectively coordinated to deliver protected, compliant and reliable services. You’ll work closely with transport supervisors, drivers and the broader national team to improve operational performance, strengthen accountability and continuously improve how we operate.

Key responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day transport operations across Queensland.
- Lead, coach and support transport supervisors, drivers and operational staff.
- Oversee scheduling, dispatch, route planning, load optimisation and fleet utilisation.
- Drive on-time delivery performance and achievement of customer service targets.
- Monitor operational KPIs and use data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, NHVR,



fatigue management and transport safety requirements.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, training and performance management.
- Manage operational costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and proactively manage service issues.
- Ensure operational delays, risks and issues are communicated and escalated appropriately.
- Lead and support operational improvement initiatives and national transport projects.

About you

We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within transport, logistics or distribution operations.
- Strong experience managing drivers, supervisors and operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of NHVR, Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management requirements.
- Strong operational and commercial awareness.
- Experience working with transport KPIs, fleet performance and service delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- A genuine commitment to safety, compliance and developing high-performing teams.
